The sizes listed are measured by the backing of the rug. Add about 10 cm (3 inches) for the fully covered area.
As with all hand-crafted carpets, the sides of the Flokati are never exactly straight. The sizes stated are approximate.

Circular Flokati - the measurements stated are of the circle diameter.

Grade A Flokati rugs contain 2 kilos of wool per square metre woven onto a synthetic backing, and Grade B contain 3 kilo per sq. m. woven onto a pure wool backing (approximate weights).
